Food Blog Entry #166
Throughout most of my childhood I've done a good job at avoiding danger. So far no broken bones or giant permanent scars...I guess you could say I'm not used to feeling pain. That's why now, with my back giving me a limp, I've been a bit depressed. The only way to let it heal properly is by sitting down for long periods of time, which has sadly left me cooped up in my house.
Then the phone rang. My mom was calling, informing me that I'd been invited to dinner with her boss Tom, his son Erik, and three auditors from California: Seth, Selina, and Christine. I just could not refuse the offer...trust me ANYTHING is better than lounging around all day.
Anyway...my mom introduced me to the auditors, all three were very friendly and outgoing. My mom's boss Tom mentioned my food blog...so I elaborated exactly what I do on the blog for the table. Since everyone seemed interested I decided I'd order a three-course meal, it's not frequent that I'm invited to amazing Italian restaurants like Trattoria Luna.
Rucola e Finocchio: Fresh arugola tossed with fresh sliced fennel, toasted almonds, fresh orange slices in a honey-raspberry vinaigrette.
And this is only the appetizer!!
