Food Blog Entry #272

8/10

Mom's gotta go back to Miami. This saddens me, but I'm grateful that she came with me to George Washington University today to help me scope out the campus. We were able to buy more of my school materials (including my first laptop) , find a couple of the buildings that I need to go to class in, and see the outside of my dorm. To say our farewells, we decided to have dinner at Red Lobster.

Our waiter, Pasha, had a very interesting conversation with us. He's Indian and was curious about the spiciness of my order. In tears, I replied "it's lovely"...this made him giggle and eventually led to a much longer conversation about his business, my future school, his nieces and nephews Ph. D's, his sons Ph. D, and airplane ticket fares. Don't ask me how it ended that way.

New Orleans Shrimp Jambalaya: Shrimp, rice, red peppers, yellow peppers, and green peppers with spices all over them.

Very spicy...especially with the Tabasco sauce. Ouch.
