It's been a couple months since I've been to Alexandria...therefore it's been a while since I had lunch at Alexandria's Pastry Shop. They bake the most amazingly tasty pastries I've ever had in my life. And for that afternoon I wanted to take my mom, she's never eaten there before...which is already a sad thought.

By the way...I recognized an elderly couple from my previous visit. It seems like they go there every afternoon, order the same coffee and sandwiches, and read the daily newspaper while commenting. In my opinion, that is a crime. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY should stick to a routine schedule so strict as that one. But at least they picked a good place to do it.

Hot Pastrami Sandwich: Pastrami, spicy mustard & Swiss cheese on rye bread. Served with a pickle spear.

Poppy Seed Brownie: A brownie baked with poppy seeds inside.

So yummy...that it makes me want to spend my...money!
